Issue

  • I am trying to upgrade Liferay to 2024.Q3 or 2024.Q4
  • The upgrade fails with the following error: 
    2024-12-17 14:45:21.409 ERROR [main][UpgradeExecutor:333] Failed upgrade process for module com.liferay.dynamic.data.mapping.service
    com.liferay.portal.kernel.upgrade.UpgradeException: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: Data truncation: Data too long for column 'smallAttributeValue' at row 1

Environment

  • 2024.Q3
  • 2024.Q4

Resolution

  • This is a known issue resolved by LPD-45168
  • If possible, upgrade to version 2024.Q4.5 or later
  • If you would like to upgrade to an affected version, please contact Liferay Support asking for a hotfix including LPD-45168
