Personalizing Collections for Clarity’s Audiences

Manual collections give you precise control over which content items to display and in what order. They're ideal for highlighting static assets like articles, images, or web content. When paired with static segments, they offer a simple yet powerful way to deliver curated experiences to known users. Building on your understanding of static segments, you’ll use collections to further personalize site experiences for Clairty’s distributors.

Exercise: Creating a Manual Collection and Displaying Static Content

Clarity wants to display distributor targeted resources in their site. Here, you’ll achieve this by creating manual collection and displaying it on their Distributor Resources page as the Clarity Admin user.

  1. Sign in as the Clarity Admin user.

    • Username: admin@clarityvisionsolutions.com
    • Password: learn
  2. Open the Site Menu (Site Menu), expand Site Builder, and click Collections.

  4. Enter Distributor Resource Highlights for Title and click Save.

  5. Select Web Content Article for Item Type and Marketing for Item Subtype.

  6. Click Save.

  7. In the Personalized Variation, click Add Personalized Variation.

  8. Select Distributor Representatives segment.

  9. Drag and drop the Distributor Representatives segment option to the first position.

  10. In the Collection Items section, click Select and select Marketing.

  11. In the breadcrumb navigation, click Sites and Libraries.

  12. Go to the Asset Library section and select Marketing Assets.

  13. Go to the Article folder and select the following articles.

    • Getting Started as a Clarity Distributor

    • Sales Toolkit: Product Brochures and Pricing Guide

    • FAQs for New Distributors

  14. Click Add.

    The manual collection is now populated with content and ready to use in site pages.

  15. Open the Site Menu (Site Menu) and click Page Tree.

  16. Go to the Resources page and click Edit ().

  17. Click the Experience drop down at the top of the page and choose New Experience.

  18. For the experience name enter Distributor Experience.

  19. For the Audience, choose the Distributors Representative segment option.

  20. Click Save.

  21. Click the up arrow on the Distributor Experience row.

  22. Select the Collection Display fragment in the Helpful Articles container.

  23. In the configuration side panel, click Change (Icon: Change (two squared arrows circulating)) and select the Distributor Resource Highlights collection.

  24. For Pagination, select None.

  25. Double click the heading and rename it to Articles to Support Your Success.

  26. Click Publish to save your changes to the Resources page.

  27. Click the Experience dropdown in the top-left corner and select Distributor Experience.

Great! You’ve created a manual collection and displayed it on the Resources page, giving distributor users quick access to the content that matters most to them.
