Issue

  • Is it possible to control file upload permissions in "Documents and Media" by role?

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0, Liferay DXP 7.1, Liferay DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • "Adding content on the Documents and Media portlet is done on a folder-by-folder basis.
  • Navigate to content > Documents and Media in the product menu on the left and adjust
    Home Folder Permissions in the options menu > at the top right.

  • With the default settings, file uploads for "Documents and Media" work as follows.
    ・ "Guest" user:files cannot be uploaded
    ・ "User" user who does not belong to the site:files cannot be uploaded
    ・ "Site Member" user who belongs to the site:files Uploadable
