Issue

You would like to restrict which application a user can add to the page. You have created a new Regular Role and assigned it to several users. Even though you do not have the option 'Add to Page' checked for each portlet, still the users can see every app in the list, when clicking on the 'Add' button.

Environment

  • DXP 7.0
  • DXP 7.1
  • DXP 7.2

Resolution

The default roles 'User', 'Guest' and 'Power User' have 'Add to Page' permissions for each portlet, that's why you can see all of them in the application list. First these permissions need to be cleared.

For example: Remove 'Blogs' from the User's and the Guest's permissions, and it disappears right away from the application list.
