How to change the default Template for a Structure

Issue

• When creating Web Content from a Structure, the default Template applied is the most recently created one for that structure. How can I assign a different template?

Environment

• DXP 7.2   DXP 7.1   DXP 7.0

Resolution

The default Template can be changed.

:: Example scenario. We have a Structure "MyStructure" which has 3 associated Templates ::

MyStructure
MyTemplate1
MyTemplate2
MyTemplate3

As MyTemplate3 is the newest, it is automatically assigned as the default when creating Web Content:

How to change the default

Locate the structure you wish to edit > click on the 3 dots > Select: Edit Default Values

(This opens up Structure Default Values)

Scroll down to the 'Structure and Template' accordion > Press Select [button] > Now select the Template required as the default > Press Save [button]

Here MyTemplate1 was assigned as the new default...

Moreover, if you select MyTemplate1 then go on to create MyTemplate4, MyTemplate1 will remain as the default.
