Issue

  • When creating e.g. a web content and adding an image or document to it, I am presented with a popup window for selecting the document/image file, and at the top there's a breadcrumb link (Sites), and when I click on it, I cannot see the Global site, so I can select a document from it.

Environment

  • DXP 7.1
  • EXP 7.2

Resolution

  • The Global site is not shown by default, you need to explicitly grant a permission for seeing the Global site, for example like this:

1. Under Control Panel / Users / Roles create a new regular role
2. Go to its Define Permissions tab, go to Control Panel / Sites / Sites on the left
3. On the right,  go to the Resource Permissions section and tick the View option, and to the right of it, click on Change and select the Global site. Save the role.
3. Then assign this role to users who should see Global listed in that Select File popup window.
