Issue

  • We recently installed fix pack 16 on DXP 7.1, and we noticed that now re-index is really slow compared to fix pack 11, our previous patch-level. We found that both liferay indexes (liferay-0 and liferay-companyId) contain all data for all models.

Environment

  • DXP 7.1 Fix Pack 13 - Fix Pack 16 (fixed in Fix Pack 17)
  • DXP 7.2 Fix Pack 1 - Fix Pack 3 (fixed in Fix Pack 4)

Resolution

  • As for DXP 7.1 install Fix Pack 17+, as for DXP 7.2 install Fix Pack 4+ and perform a full reindex (reindex all search indexes) from Control Panel in non-peak hours, in order to remove the duplicate data from the System index.
  • Before applying the new Fix Pack in Production, perform thorough testing in your lower environment first to ensure that everything works correctly, referring to Patching Liferay DXP.
