Issue

  • By default, authentication is required to access the Liferay DXP instance for both DEV and UAT environments.
  • It is recommended that you do not disable this functionality in an effort to prevent unwanted users from accessing your environment URLs,
  • But if necessary, the following will guide you through accomplishing this.

Environment

  • Liferay SaaS

Resolution

  • In your local repo, just open the liferay.conf file under the /webserver/configs/dev/conf.d, and delete the following lines:
    auth_basic "Authentication Required";
    auth_basic_user_file /var/www/html/.htpasswd;
