Issue
- Temp files are created in the /tomcat/temp/liferay/s3 directory when we upload documents
- These files are kept for 7 days, resulting in a lot of extra disk space being taken up
Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.1+
- Amazon S3
Resolution
- The length of time these files are kept in the cache can be configured under Control Panel > System Settings > File Storage > S3 > Cache Directory Clean Up Expunge
- The value is set in days and is 7 by default
- Lowering this value to 1 will result in daily clearing of this cache
