Define Permissions page crashes with a large number of groups on MS SQL Server

Issue

  • When a large number of Organizations are added in the portal (More than 200,000), the "Define Permission" screen breaks down and appears to be blank when clicked on Summary -> Control Panel -> General Permissions, or any permissions on the page.

    Note: The issue is observed when Liferay is configured with Microsoft SQL Server.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0
  • SQL Server 2014

Resolution

  • This issue can be resolved by adding com.liferay.portal.kernel.model.Organization to thegroups.complex.sql.class.names property.
