Environment
- Liferay DXP 7.0, 7.1, 7.2
Resolution
- It occurs when the server tries to execute the separate java process that generates the document previews, it does not find java executable and throws the above exception.
- There is a solution and a workaround:
-
Solution: In order to avoid this behavior, the PATH variable must be set with the path of the java executable. It's usually located in JAVA_HOME/bin.
-
Workaround: To prevent the document preview process to be executed separately set the portal property
dl.file.entry.preview.fork.process.enabled
to false.
Important: This workaround is not recommended in production environment.
