The Live site displays web content that has been changed on the Staging site

Issue

  • The modifications are visible in the live environment instead of just the staging environment after publishing the web content with changes.
  • Reproduction Steps:
    • Enable local live staging
    • Create a Web Content
    • Create a Page
    • Place a Content Display fragment on the Page
    • From the right menu, under Content Display, click on the + sign to set the Web Content
    • Select the Web Content tab
    • Choose the Web Content
    • Publish the changes of the Page
    • Publish the site using Staging
    • Edit the Web Content
    • Check the Page on the Live site
  • Expected Result: The Live site displays the older version of the Web Content.
  • Actual Result: The Live site displays the latest version of the Web Content.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • Content Display fragment displays Staging content issue is a known issue and resolved in the Liferay DXP 7.3 Fix Pack-2.
  • If the hotfix is required for this issue, please create a support ticket requesting the hotfix by attaching the patch details.
  • Installing Fix Packs and Hotfixes on Liferay DXP will guide to install this hotfix in the respective environment
