Issue

  • When changing the screen name or email address of a user, the portal now requires a password verification. This was not a requirement for previous versions of Liferay.

Environment

  • DXP 7.3+

Resolution

  • This is a change implemented under LPS-112726 to address security concerns. However, our team has implemented the ability to toggle this feature under LPS-132641, since the password verification requirement is not needed for clients using SSO. To disable the password verification, request a hotfix that includes LPS-132641 and set the following property in portal-ext.properties after installing the fix:
    company.security.update.password.required=false
