Characters that are entered in a form field getting deleted

Issue

  • Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Create a form with 2 required text fields and captcha enabled (enable captcha on form's kabob menu settings). For one field, set it up to validate that it is an email being inputted.
    2. Add a forms portlet to home page and display the form from step 1.
    3. Type into the fields such that the validation messages are triggered while typing, e.g. into the email field, type something like 'aaa' and hit space bar, this should trigger the email validation warning.

     Expected Results
    Characters remain on field
     Actual Results
    Characters get erased when the validation message pops up

  • Liferay DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known issue.
  • If the hotfix is required for this issue, please create a support ticket requesting hotfix by attaching patch details.
