Issue

  • By making a number of custom publications the page order between the Staging and the Live sites can be out of sync. This is a limitation that is caused by publishing only a set of pages and not the whole page-tree.

Environment

  • Liferay Portal 6.2
  • Liferay DXP 7.0
  • Liferay DXP 7.1
  • Liferay DXP 7.2
  • Liferay DXP 7.3
  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

Whenever you come across the problem, we can offer the following workarounds as resolution:

  • By publishing the complete Page-tree from Staging the ordering will be every time in sync. This approach can ensure you that the page priority will be identical in both sites.
  • The earlier approach can also work on a page-level. By publishing the specific page-level the priority will be identical in both sites.

Additional Information

  • In order to improve the Liferay system in the future,  we created the feature request LPS-145825.
