Configuring individual value to Settings of files when using Multiple File Upload

Issue

  • I would like to add individual value to each file for their Settings (e.g. Document Type, Display Page, Categorization, Expiration Date, Permissions) when using the Multiple File Upload option to upload several files at one time.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • When using MultiUpload the configured setting values are added for each file that is being uploaded in one batch and cannot be set individually.
  • This means that the configured FileEntryType is applied to ALL the elements that is being sent to the server and it is not possible to "customize" it by element.

Additional Information

  • Some technical background: The com.liferay.document.library.web.internal.portlet.action.EditFileEntryMVCActionCommand#_addMultipleFileEntries(PortletConfig, ActionRequest, ActionResponse) method shows that the parameters received are reused and applied to all the files uploaded using the same form.
