Issue

  • Content stored in documents and media can be versioned and updated. After a long period of use, some files will be updated many times and the number of versions will become quite large.
  • Is there a function to limit versions?

Environment

  • DXP 7.0+

solution

  • Control Panel > Settings > System Settings:Content and Data:Documents and MediaofSystem Scope:Services:Maximum Version Number
  • The default setting is "0" and the number of versions is unlimited.
By adjusting this value, the number of versions to be saved can be controlled.
  • If "5" is set, when content is updated while versions 1~5 exist, version 6 will be newly created and version 1 will be deleted.
If more than 6 versions already exist, the previous versions will be deleted according to the value of "Maximum Number of Versions" when the content is updated.
