Issue

  • Can I use Liferay DXP 7.2 with macOS?

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • The compatibility matrix is made for production systems, however, developers can also use other operating systems with the supported JDK versions, but if issues are reported, Support can only investigate them on supported operating systems. If it looks like an unsupported operating system is causing problems, Liferay Support is limited in this case.

In this case, using official Liferay Docker images is recommended which are run on supported Linux and JDK versions in order to avoid operating system issues. On Support some engineers are using macOS as well, however, it is not on the compatibility matrix, but there are not aware of any issues with it.
