Issue
- Is there any OOTB option to modify the announcements email template?
Resolution
-
The template for the subject and body of announcement emails contained in the files
emailsubject.tmpl and emailbody.tmpl, as per the below property.

# Env: LIFERAY_ANNOUNCEMENTS_PERIOD_EMAIL_PERIOD_BODY
# Env: LIFERAY_ANNOUNCEMENTS_PERIOD_EMAIL_PERIOD_SUBJECT
#
announcements.email.subject=com/liferay/portlet/announcements/dependencies/email_subject.tmpl
announcements.email.body=com/liferay/portlet/announcements/dependencies/email_body.tmp
- Create a folder
dependencies under the tomcat directory <TOMCAT_HOME>/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes/dependencies then create a custom template files emailsubject.tmpl and emailbody.tmpl inside the folder
- Set the following properties in portal-ext.properties
announcements.email.subject=dependencies/emailsubject.tmpl
announcements.email.body=dependencies/emailbody.tmpl
Note: Requires a restart of the server.
