Issue

  • LDAP users not getting created upon sign in, preventing authentication and resulting in errors similar to:
ERROR [https-jsse-nio-8443-exec-1][AutoLoginFilter:256] Current URL /portal/ generates exception: com.liferay.portal.kernel.exception.NoSuchUserException: No User exists with the key {...
  • Testing LDAP users in control panel lists out the expected users from Active Directory

Environment

  • 7.4

Resolution

  • Reference our LDAP documentation and double check for any typos in your LDAP configuration in Liferay. While the Test LDAP users list may populate in the Control Panel, the portal or your Active Directory may be expecting a specific syntax to authenticate users.
