Issue

  • When using Display Page Templates to display web content on the Portal, my web content is being accessed by more than one URL.
  • Why when configuring a friendly URL to access my web content through the Display Page Templates tool, does my Web Content continue to be accessed through the first URL created?

Environment

  • DXP 7.3
  • DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • Initially, we understand this as an expected behavior. When creating a web content using Display Page Template, a URL for this Web Content is automatically created based on the name of the created Web content.
  • For example: A web content created with the name NewBasicWebContent, when saving this content, its access URL will be: http://localhost:8080/web/guest/w/newbasicwebcontent and this Web Content will be in version 1.0
  • Updating the URL of this Web Content so that it can be accessed via a friendly URL (For example: http://localhost:8080/web/guest/w/updatedurl) this Web Content will be saved in version 1.1
  • However, version 1.0 is still in the history of this Web Content, for this reason it is still possible to access this Web Content, even if I don't have this URL configured. To limit this access and set this web content to be accessed only via the friendly URL, it is necessary to remove version 1.0 of this web content in the Web Content history.
