Where is the password reset email set up and in what priority order?

Issue

It seems that I can set up the password reset email in multiple places, which setting has priority?

Environment

  • DXP7.0+

solution

Settings can be made in the following locations

  1. Login Widget > Settings > Password Reset Notification
  2. Control Panel > Settings > Instance Settings > Email Address > Password Reset Notification

As for the email notification settings, the settings in 1 take precedence.

Also, if a setting is registered or updated in1, the setting in1always takes precedence.
