Issue
- Facing high CPU utilization while logging-in high number of users per minute continuously (24x7) using username-password authentication, mostly while fetching data using some scripts.
Resolution
- Password hashing is a costly operation, as it uses high computational algorithms. Ref: Password hashing
- This is usually suitable for normal user logins, but for bot logins, this sometimes become too CPU intensive.
- In such cases, it is suggested to opt for OAuth2/ Token based logins as they are way less CPU intensive, and are better for such use-cases.
