Issue

  • Video previews are not being generated in the environment.
  • There are not error related in the logs (memory, space, etc) when a mp4 video is uploaded, for example, but the preview is never created.

Environment

  • Liferay 7.4, 2023.Q3
  • FFMPEG enabled.
  • Previewable Processor Maximum Size and File Size limits correctly configured (no limits, for example)

Resolution

  • Check the output of the following Groovy script:
out.println(com.liferay.portal.kernel.util.PropsUtil.getArray(com.liferay.portal.kernel.util.PropsKeys.DL_FILE_ENTRY_PROCESSORS).toString());
  • The expected output should include the com.liferay.portlet.documentlibrary.util.VideoProcessorImpl processor.
  • If that's not the case, please review the following property in your portal-ext.properties and adjust it accordingly:
dl.file.entry.processors=\
com.liferay.portlet.documentlibrary.util.AudioProcessorImpl,\
com.liferay.portlet.documentlibrary.util.RawMetadataProcessorImpl,\
com.liferay.portlet.documentlibrary.util.VideoProcessorImpl
