Issue

  • Users having the "Administrator" role cannot access the App Manager through Control Panel → System →App Manager.

Environment

  • DXP 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4
  • Quartery Releases

Resolution

Take into consideration the following points to resolve the situation:

  1. Users must have the out-of-the-box 'Administrator' role defined by the key 'Administrator'. There is no option to create a custom role to grant this permission.
  2. The App Manager can only be accessed through the main instance. This is because the Omni Admin concept is exclusive to this instance.
  3. The portal-ext property omniadmin.users affects how OmniAdmin users are identified:
    1. If this property is not set or is empty: Users with the 'Administrator' role in the default instance are also considered Omni Admins.
    2. Otherwise, when it is set to a non-empty value: Only listed users will be considered Omni Admins in the default instance.
