Issue

We want to upgrade our custom developments from DXP 7.4 update 48 to the Liferay Quarterly Release 2023.Q4.

We are using Liferay Developer Studio 3.9.8, but its "Upgrade Planner" tool lacks compatibility with our specific source version (7.4 update 48), the only source options are 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3.

Additionally, while target options include 7.4, selecting the Quarterly Release 2023.Q4 is not possible.

Is there any newer Liferay Developer Studio available with an "Upgrade Planner" tool that supports the Quarterly Releases?

Environment

Liferay Quarterly Release 2023.Q4

Resolution

As of today, February 15, 2024, the last available information is:
  • The latest version of Liferay Developer Studio is 3.9.8, released in December 2022.
  • The "Upgrade Planner" tool is no longer being updated or developed and is not compatible with versions 7.4 and above.
  • It remains useful only for upgrading from older versions (6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3).
