Issue

  • How can a user remove languages in Instance Settings?

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3
  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • Start up a vanilla bundle without any specific language settings.
  • Go to Control Panel > Instance Settings > Localization. Make sure all languages are available. 
  • Stop the system and put the following settings in portal-ext.properties:
    locales=en_US locales.enabled=en_US
  • Start up the system.
  • Go to Control Panel > Instance Settings > Localization
  • Move all languages to the "Available" tab and move English-US back to the "Current" tab and click save.

Result: All languages are removed exempt for English-US (attached a video).
