Where is the place to define default values for Web Content Structures in DXP 7.4 ?

Issue

  • In Liferay 7.1 we had defined default values for fields in our Web Content Structures.

  • After migration to Liferay 7.4 we do not see any place to define default values while creating or editing Web Content Structures.

  • Now we have a problem with migrated structures that kept default values. The problem is when we edit field in article that have default value we cannot clear this field: after clearing field and publishing, cleared field it is restored to default value.

  • We do not need default values any more; how can we get rid of them?

Environment

  • DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • You can edit the default values the following way:

    • Navigate to Content & Data > Web Content > Structures.

    • Click the Ellipsis menu (three dots) next to the structure name.

    • Select the option: 'Edit Default Values'
