Issue

  • When trying to change the view permission of a page it's not possible to do it for the Guest role in the first page: it shows as non-interactive.

Environment

  • QR 2024.Q3, 2024.Q4, 2025.Q1

Resolution

  • This is the expected behavior for the guest site in a given instance.
  • For the guest site, the first page (also referred to as the home page) needs to be visible to guest users (i.e., users that haven't signed in).
    • That's why going to Site Builder > Pages > [3-dot menu of the first page] > Permissions shows the checkbox for the Guest role and the View permission as enabled and non-interactive.
  • This restriction doesn't apply to any other site in the instance. In those sites it is possible to make the home page non-visible to guest users.
