Issue

  • When a page's navigation menu position is changed in the Staged environment, and that page is published to Live, its position in Live has not moved.

Environment

  • Portal 6.2
  • DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • This issue is present when Staging is enabled with only some pages published, and can be resolved by publishing all pages.
  • Page orders are only published or modified if all pages are published -- this is intended behavior to allow the navigation order for pages in Live to be different from the page order in staging.

Additional Information

  • More information about Staging can be found in this Help Center documentation, and information about the implementation of this behavior can be found in LPS-45866.
  • A feature request has been submitted for a future version of Liferay to allow staging page reordering to be reflected in Live without requiring all pages to be published, as described in LPS-60134.
