Issue

  • The user list appears empty.
  • Unable to find any user.

Environment

  • Liferay 6.2
  • Liferay DXP 7.0
  • Liferay DXP 7.1 

Resolution

This issue can be caused for three reasons

  1. There are no Users. :)
  2. The user does not have permissions to visualise the user list.
  3. The Index is empty or inaccessible.
    • Re-index.
      • DXP 7.0: Control Panel - Server Administration - Resources 
        Reindex com.liferay.portal.kernel.model.User.
    • Check your index Server configuration and healthy.
    • Obtain the information directly from the database avoiding the index server: In order to force the visualisation, is able to obtain the list directly from the database with the following property:
users.search.with.index=false
