Issue

  • Read-only and editable input fields are differently identified when it comes to form validation
  • Steps to reproduce:
    1) Start up a clean instance
    2) Create a new structure in Content & Data → Web Content → Structures (create a structure with all field types setting them to required)
    3) Create new web content using the structure and try to publish it with leaving the fields empty
Expected behavior: Indicating the empty required fields are not consistent after validation, not all required field has background color style (danger)
Observed behavior: Indicating the empty required fields are consistent after validation, all required field has background color style (danger)

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • The observed behavior has been considered as a feature request, which can be tracked here: LPS-155510, in order to determine whether or not changing the field types to have homogeneous validation styles is feasible.
    • Note: 'read-only' fields are those which are not text fields so the user does not write anything, but select, click, etc.
