Issue

  • After adding custom domains to the Liferay cloud service, how long does it take to reflect the changes?

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • For the custom domain to work as expected (redirecting users to Liferay), the custom domain must have a type A record with the environment’s Ingress Load Balancer IP.
  • Registering a custom domain with the environment’s dedicated IP as a type A record in your DNS provider can take up to 24-48 hours to take full effect, but in some cases takes only a few minutes.
  • However, adding the custom domain to the desired service via the Liferay Cloud console or the service’s LCP.json file can take one or more hours to propagate.
