Issue

  • Sometimes it is necessary for Guests (non-authenticated users) to be restricted from viewing Public Pages so that they are only viewable by Site Members.
  • Otherwise, Public Pages are for Guests and Site Members and Private Pages are for Site Members only.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0, 7.1

Resolution

  1. Select the three dots button next to a page in the control panel and go to the Configure Page menu.
  2. In the top right corner of the screen is another three dots button. Go to it and select Permissions.
  3. Remove the check box under the View column for the Guest Role.
