Issue

  • I would like to change the date format of the Date Field in the Liferay Forms, it should be dd/mm/yyyy instead of mm/dd/yyyy.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.2+

Resolution

The Date Format of the Date Field in Liferay Forms (and in other functionalities that has Date fields) depends on the language/locale that is being used.

  • In case you select English - United States in the Language Selector, the Date will be mm/dd/yyyy
  • In case you select English - United Kingdom in the Language Selector, the Date will be dd/mm/yyyy

This is the intended behavior for these Languages, but there is no option to define a custom date format for a specific language.

In case you would like to change the date format of a Language, that can only be done through customization.
