General

  • The default search indexing framework is Elastic Search in Liferay DXP 7.0 and Portal 7.0 CE.
  • Embedded Elasticsearch is not supported, it is only provided for demo purposes.
  • Standalone search engine, Solr, is still available in Liferay DXP 7.0 and Portal 7.0 CE.
  • Storing indexes locally with Lucene has been removed.
    • We will continue to support Lucene in previous versions of our products.
    • For DXP, Solr and Elasticsearch will be the supported search engines.
  • Ehcache JGroups and RMI cache replication support were removed prior to Liferay Portal 7.0 CE GA5, but have been restored in this version onward.
