Issue

  • "No User exists with role Administrator" error is seen when upgrading major Liferay versions, as follows:
ERROR [main][VerifyProcessTrackerOSGiCommands:323] null
com.liferay.portal.verify.VerifyException: com.liferay.portal.kernel.exception.NoSuchUserException: No user exists in company 12345 with role Administrator

Environment

  • DXP 7.4, DXP 7.3, DXP 7.2

Resolution

  • It is required that at least one user has the Administrator role before performing the upgrade. 
  • If the Liferay install has virtual instances, there must be at least one Administrator user per virtual instances.
