Issue
- Adding "index.on.startup=true" to the portal-ext.properties file does not trigger the reindex.
Resolution
- The primary purpose of the property
index.on.startup=true is to force reindex after an upgrade (to sync the index with database changes made during the upgrade)
- This property does not trigger spellcheck indexes
- Liferay expects to connect to a proper, fully populated index. When that is not the case, it will trigger full reindex on its own, no properties required
- There is currently no property available to trigger "Reindex Spell-Check Dictionaries" on startup
