Creating a Discount
Follow the steps below to create a discount by selecting the discount type, the target customers, and setting the discount rates. Once the discount has been created, specify additional conditions to qualify for the discount.
To create a discount,

Navigate to the Control Panel → Commerce → Discounts.

Click Add (
) and enter a name: Spring Sale.

Select a discount type (for example, Apply to Subtotal) from the Target drop down. (See Discount Types to learn more about the different discount types.)

Check the box for which channel this discount applies to.

Select which Account Groups this discount applies to. In this example, US East Coast.

If using a coupon code, switch the Use Coupon Code toggle to Yes. Then enter a code in the Couple Code field. Otherwise, leave it as NO.

If using a percentage, switch the Use Percentage toggle to Yes.

Enter the Maximum Discount Amount: $20.00

Enter the Level: 20.00. This takes 20% off the subtotal.

Switch the Active toggle to YES.

Click Publish.
Your store now has an active discount with 20% off selected goods for those in the specified Account Group.
Adding Discount Rules

Once the discount has been created, there are 2 tabs: Detail, and Rules. Click on the Rules tab.

Click the Add (
) button and select Cart Total from the Type drop-down menu.

Enter 15.00 in the Cart Total Minimum Amount field.

Click Save.
In this example, a Discount Rule has been applied to this particular Discount. Customers receive this discount for all purchases over the set amount.
