Generating Content with AI Hub
AI Hub gives you two agents for creating content in Liferay CMS. Generate Content creates draft content entries from a short description, and Generate Field Value fills a single field while you edit an entry. Both run inside the AI Assistant.
Generate Content creates entries such as basic content and blog posts, following the content structures defined on your Liferay DXP instance. It doesn’t create images or other files. To generate an image, see Generating Images with AI Hub.
These agents become available once AI Hub is integrated with your Liferay DXP instance, which includes enabling the AI Hub feature flag. If you don’t see an option described here, confirm that step is complete.
Generating Content from the Contents Section
Start from the Contents section to draft a new entry. The AI Assistant needs a space, a content type, and a description of the subject.
-
Open the Global Menu (
) → CMS → Contents. -
Click New → Generate Content With AI.

-
Choose the space where the content belongs.
If you have access to more than one space, the AI Assistant asks, “In which space do you want to generate the content?” Choose a space in the Space drop-down. Choosing a space submits it immediately and locks the drop-down. If you have access to exactly one space, the AI Assistant opens with that space selected and doesn’t ask. If you have access to no space, ask an administrator to add you to one.

-
Choose the content type to create.
The AI Assistant asks, “What type of content do you want to generate?” Choose a type in the Content Type drop-down.
Choosing a type submits it immediately and locks the drop-down. The AI Assistant has no control for clearing a conversation. To change the space or the content type, reload the page and start again.

-
Describe what the content should be about.
The agent replies with a list of links, one for each entry it creates. When you don’t ask for a specific number, the agent creates one entry. When a request is unclear, the agent asks you for clarification before generating anything.
The agent saves each entry as a draft as soon as it responds. Each link carries a Draft label and opens that entry’s edit screen.
The drafts also appear in the Contents section of the space you selected. Review a draft, then publish it from its edit screen as you would any other entry.
Generating Multiple Drafts
Name a quantity in your request and the agent creates that many entries, each from a different angle on the topic.
-
Follow steps 1-4 of Generating Content from the Contents Section.
-
Enter a request naming how many entries you want and what they cover.
Generate 3 blog posts about different trips around Japan -
Open each entry from the list of links in the reply.
Generating a Field Value in the Content Editor
While you’re editing an entry, you can fill a single field without leaving the editor. This uses Generate Field Value, which writes into the field you name rather than creating a new entry.
-
Open the entry you want to edit.
-
Click AI Assistant (
) in the top toolbar. See Opening the AI Assistant. -
Name the field you want to fill and describe the value it should contain.
-
Review the suggested value.
-
Click Try Again for another value, or click Apply to write the value into the field.
The value appears in the field, and both buttons become unavailable. Edit the value directly if you want to adjust it. Generate Field Value writes into the open editor only, so save the entry to keep the value.
