Delete Duplicate Site Templates resulting from Portal 6.1 to DXP 7.0 upgrade

Issue

  • After upgrading from Liferay Portal 6.1 to DXP 7.0, you may observe duplicate Community/Intranet Site Templates. 
  • I did not use the Liferay's default Community/Intranet templates

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.0
  • Liferay Portal 6.1

Resolution

  1. In DXP 7.0, go to Control Panel > Sites > Site Templates.
  2. Click "Manage" for the old Community Site.
  3. Go to Configuration > Site Template Settings.
  4. Modify the Description field to the following exactly:
    Site with Forums and Wiki.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Go to pages and remove the "Calendar" page.
  7. Repeat steps 2 - 6 with the old Intranet Site, but change the description exactly to
    Site with Documents and News.
  8. Delete the new Community/Intranet Site Templates.
  9. Restart the portal and verify no new Site Templates have been created.
