Https Access Portal Problems

Issue

• When users are trying to access to portal using https protocol, portal is redirecting to http protocol and pages are not showed right.
• Https protocol was configured in load balancers and application servers but not in Liferay portal.

Environment

• Liferay DXP 7.1
• Application server: Tomcat 9.0

Resolution

• Https protocol has to be configured in Liferay too, using portal-ext.properties like

  web.server.protocol=https

  (https://docs.liferay.com/portal/7.1-latest/propertiesdoc/portal.properties.html#Web%20Server)
• Example:
  

  web.server.http.port=80
  web.server.https.port=443
  web.server.host=
  web.server.protocol=https
