Issue

  1. I go to Categorization > Categories
  2. I add a new category in a Vocabulary
  3. I edit the category
  4. I go to the Images tab
  5. It says: .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .mpg, .ogg file extensions are accepted
  6. I try to upload files with .mpg/.ogg extension
  7. I get the error message: Please enter a file with a valid extension (.bmp,.gif,.jpeg,.jpg,.png,.tiff).

Environment

  • Commerce

Resolution

  • The root cause of this behavior is that while Commerce allows these file extensions, Documents and Media settings restrict them.
  • In order to allow the upload of .mpg and .ogg file extensions, please take the following steps:
  1. Go to Control Panel > Configuration >  System Settings
  2. Select Documents and Media and within that the Item Selector View
  3. Add the required file extensions here
