Issue

  • After adding a certain URL in the RSS Publisher widget, the feeds will not be displayed, showing a red error message on the widget's interface: "$RSS_FEED_URL cannot be found."

Environment

  • Liferay Portal 6.2
  • Liferay DXP 7.0+

Resolution

  • Chances are that the feeds cannot be shown as the time to get them from the URL exceeds the one provided in the rss.connection.timeout property:

    Set the HTTP connection timeout in milliseconds for reading RSS feeds.
    Env: LIFERAY_RSS_PERIOD_CONNECTION_PERIOD_TIMEOUT

    Defaults:

        rss.connection.timeout=2000
    Increase such value in order to see if the RSS feeds can be displayed.
