Issue
- There are virtual hosts using different subdomains:
-
main.site.com - (Global / Root)
-
a.site.com - Site A
-
b.site.com - Site B
-
c.site.com - Site C
- The desired URLs should look as follows:
- site.com
- site.com/a
- site.com/b
- site.com/c
- How can this be achieved with Liferay?
Resolution
-
This is something that needs to be configured on the web server.
For example, in case of an Apache server, the following article would help: Redirect URLs with the Apache Web Server.
So please try to check your web server and its documentation on how to do this in your environment.
-
The original URLs can be mapped and the
/web/
part can be changed according to your preference.
- If this is configured on the web server level, the original URLs will never be found by other services (e.g. the Google search), and the URLs will look like according to your requirements.
