Issue

  • There is a stack overflow error together with the error
    org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationDispatcher.invoke Servlet.service() for servlet [Friendly URL Servlet - Public] threw exception

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.3

Resolution

  • This error can happen when the following portal properties are incorrectly set:
    • layout.friendly.url.page.not.found
    • sites.friendly.url.page.not.found
  • Make sure that these properties point to existing pages.
