CAPTCHA 'Text verification field' error appears after submitting the form

Issue

  • The 'Text verification field' error appears on the UI when the form is submitted after enabling the CAPTCHA.
  • Steps to reproduce:
  1. Start the server.
  2. Navigate to the Site Menu→ Content & Data → Forms.
  3. Create a form with a text field.
  4. In the created form screen, go to Settings → enable Require Captcha → Save.
  5. Copy the shared form link, and go to the shared link.
  6. Input Captcha text corresponding with the image.
  7. Submit form.

Expected Behaviour: The form should be submitted successfully.
Observed Behaviour: The form appears with the error: “Error: Text verification failed.

Environment

  • Liferay DXP 7.4

Resolution

  • The observed behavior is a known issue addressed by LPS-193862, which is already included in 7.4.13 DXP U96 and 2023.Q3.5.
