Issue

  • The user is receiving an error "You do not have the required permissions" when one user assigns the workflow tasks to another user.
  • When checked further, the task assigned by one user to another user is successful ("Success: Your request completed successfully") but still the UI error pops up as (Error: You do not have the required permissions).

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Start the clean instance of Liferay DXP 2023.Q4.4.
    2. Create 2 new users and 2 regular roles (Let's assume, it's the Principal and the Teacher).
    3. Navigate to Application->Process Builder->Workflows and create a new workflow.
    4. Now upload any document and submit it for workflow.
    5. As per the workflow created, the document should be sent for review to teacher, hence login to teacher's account and open notifications.
    6. Open the document, click on action button at top right corner and click on ‘Assign to’ option.
    7. Now assign the workflow task to another user i.e. Principal.
    8. Observe that success message as well as error message pops up.
    9. Now login to Principal's account and see that the task assigned by teacher is received by the Principal.

    Actual Results:
The workflow task is getting assigned to another user successfully along with the error message "You do not have the required permissions".
Expected Results: The workflow task should be assigned to another user successfully without any error message.
