Regarding compatibility with reCAPTCHA V3

Issue

  • We have noticed that the compatibility between reCAPTCHA V3 and Liferay 7.4 is problematic, which has prevented us from implementing this version on our site. Based on our research, this issue is already known within the community.

    We would like to receive an official confirmation from Liferay on this matter, as well as information on the possibility of a fix in upcoming versions. Additionally, could you let us know if the integration of reCAPTCHA V3 is included in your roadmap for future Liferay versions?

  • There was a feature request about this, and the latest info from our engineering team (from May 29, 2024), is the following:
     

    What we’re planning currently is to implement an extension point rather then implementing different solutions out of the box: LPD-10817: POC for the extension point for integrating custom CAPTCHA solution/serviceIn Planning. However, it’s among our next initiatives to deal with and it’s in the investigation phase already, we don’t have a timeline yet as there are higher priority requests currently.

     
    In other words, this possibility will be introduced at some point, through https://liferay.atlassian.net/browse/LPD-10817, which is currently in Planning status.  (2024.10.17)
