Issue

  • I  browse to Control Panel -> System Settings -> CONTENT AND DATA -> Web Content -> SYSTEM SCOPE -> Administration and uncheck 'Autogenerate Structure Key' option.
  • Then I create a new Web Content Structure and I fill the 'Structure Key' field with a custom value (i.e. 'ID0001').
  • However, the new structure is listed with a different ID (i.e. '379274').
  • Why is not it getting my custom value?

Environment

  • DXP 7.4
  • 2024.Q2

Resolution

  • Unchecking 'Autogenerate Structure Key' option allows to put a custom value in the 'Structure Key' field but this value is different from Structure 'ID', which is still being internally autogenerated.
  • 'Structure Key' is used as external value (can be customized, as 'ID0001') , i.e. in API calls, whereas 'ID' is an internal database value (cannot be user-generated.) which is showed in structure list ('379274')
